Sea and woods like home for them
Hana Ammouna lives with her family at Kulltorp. She has been in Sweden for 4,5 years. In Syria she was a gym teacher and she would like to continue in Sweden. This term she has been a leisure leader/gym teacher at Nosabyskolan.
– I love cycling, and the sea, she says.
”I have to go out to breathe. That’s why I live in a house with a big garden”Hana Ammouna
Yonus Hassam lives in Degeberga. He came from Afghanistan 4,5 years ago and got his Swedish citizenship in February. He has completed his first year on the food programme at Österängskolan. He also works in the care sector.
– I do roadtraining, I usually do the Linnérundan, and I play football with FFA at Näsby. I like best being in the woods, he says.
What is your relation to nature?
– I love nature, I can’t stay Indoors. I have to go out to breathe. That’s why I live in a house with a big garden. I grow flowers, says Hana.
Allemansrätten
Swedish Allemansrätt is about rights and obligations out of doors.
You must be considerate of trees and flowers, wild life, landowners and other people . The basic rule is simple – don’t disturb, don’t destroy. You can walk, cycle, ride, ski or simply be almost anywhere. But you must not damage the ground, plants or animals.
Fresh air keeps you healthy, says Yonas. I do roadtraining out of doors. There’s a lot you can do in nature, grill and be together with your family, says Yonus.
”I lived at Ivögården when I arrived, the car ferry from Barum doen’t cost anything”Yonus Hassam
Hana tells us about Öland, the best place she knows. Yonus has lived on Ivö.
– It’s really fine there. I lived at Ivögården when I arrived, the car ferry from Barum doen’t cost anything, Yonas says, and Hana is immediately interested.
They know all about what rights and obligations Allemansrätten implies for open-air life. Yonus got his information on the food programme . Hana has been leader for study-groups for new arrivals at Näsby.
Do you think that new arrivals know anything about Allemansrätten?
– No, it depends on how integrated they are. I’m sure they know what the rules are, but if they only meet people from their own country, it doesn’t count for much. That’s why I was a circle leader, says Hana.
Do unaccompanied minors know what applies?
– No, I don’t think so. Perhaps they aren’t interested, or no-one has thought of informing them.
