At the weekend it was confirmed that two players in the men’s Division 5 team have been infected. But the club chairman, Oliver Blennborn, sees no risk that covid-19 will spread fast in Broby IF.

– No, there’s very little risk of that.

Why?

– The two players have, for different reasons, not because of covid-19, not taken part in team training sessions for the past few weeks. We suspect that they may have become infected at a student party.

– At the same time we’re not taking any chances. So we are asking all playes who begin to notice any symptoms to go and be tested, and follow the recommendations given by Folkhälsomyndigheterna (the Public Health authorities), says Blennborn.

In the case of the players the symptoms were a loss of the senses of taste and smell. Both live in Östra Göinge municipality.

Last week there were ten confirmed cases of covid-19 in the municipality.

Thursday’s training match against Lönsoda would have been the first game of the summer for the team.

The first Division 5 match is an away game against Eket on 1st August.
