The initiative comes from Arabiska bokmässan in Malmö and the Ibn Rushd educational association.

”There will be lots of different kinds of book, for example non-fiction, fiction and children’s books. We want to spotlight Arabic literature”
Sura Mashat.

The library is looking for ways to integrate people and bring them closer together. Not least all the people who have left their own country to come and live in Sweden.

”We try to find new ways to integrate or help in the integration process”, says Lotta Vinberg Kronbäck, communicator at Kristianstad town library.

– We hope that Arabic bokmässan will be an annual event. It’s hard to find Arabic literature in Kristianstad, says Sura Mashat.
