Many new COVID cases in Kristianstad – retirement home isolated

On Tuesday alone, 64 new cases were reported – in one day – of Covid-19 in Skåne. Skåne has had 5,517 cases since March.

– Since Wednesday, when we updated the figures, we have a housing unit with two infected residents and five employees, says Camilla Gärdebring, Head of the Care Administration.

The infection has been traced. It was an employee who was showing symptoms and tested themselves.

When an employee has reported symptoms, or been found to be infected, the residence is isolated and full protective gear is brought in, says Camilla Gärdebring.

In this case, the entire residence has been closed.

– We believe that we have great opportunities to minimise the spread, she says.

The coronavirus continues to wreak havoc. The infection control doctors have stated time and again that the infection is spreading in Skåne.

It is therefore important to be careful, keep a distance, and more importantly - to stay at home if you have symptoms.

In total, 13 people are now hospitalised in Skåne for the disease. Three of them (unchanged) are in intensive care. One of them at CSK.

294 new cases have occurred in the last week. Of these, 26 people have been affected in Kristianstad. Östra Göinge has 2 new cases, Bromölla 0 and Hässleholm 3.
