Lingenässkolan under the microscope – perhaps with external evaluation
Kenth Olsson believes that an evaluation is necessary.
– Lingenässkolan is the biggest primary school that has been built in the municipality. And it is the first time since Österänggymnasiet that we have built a completely new school because of an increase in the number of pupils. So we think we have to make an evaluation, he says.
”There's never been such a comprehensive evaluation in all my 16 years as Director of Education”Kenth Olsson, head of the municipal education department
Näsbyskolan, Gamlegårdsskolan and parts of the special school were amalgamated into one school, Lingenässkolan, which was opened in 2019 and is a F-6 school.
There were many discussions about where it should be placed. Siting the school among private houses in the older part of Näsby might be one way of furthering integration and getting a wider selection of pupils.
It was Socialdemokraterna who came up with the suggestion in the education committee to make an evaluation. Vänsterpartiet and Alliansen agreed.
So now the education committee is proposing that an external evaluation be made, that all aspects of the school be examined, from teaching to is geographical location and how it co-operates with Högskolan Kristianstad.
– There's never been such a comprehensive evaluation in all my 16 years as Director of Education. And it must be carried out by people from outside. We mustn't evaluate ourselves.
During the summer holidays 20 pupils have changed over to other schools.
He hopes that an external evaluation can begin in the spring and be ready by next autumn.
