Important young people get Active Summer this year as well
”Active Summer” mixes summer jobs and recreational activities, where young people take care of a residential area, and participate in recreational activities.
Active Summer has been taking place at Charlottesborg for several years. Last year, it was also in Gamlegården and Österäng. It will take place again this year too.
”This year feels like one of the most important years to be able to offer activities”Anna Nordin, Coordinator at the Drug and Crime Prevention Council
60 young people in upper secondary school can participate.
– We have posted it to schools where children in years 7-8 can register their interest. There’s a huge interest at Fröknegårdskolan, says Malin Månsson, the field group's Team Leader.
It’s important that the project exists, despite the pandemic, thinks Anna Nordin, Coordinator at the Drug and Crime Prevention Council.
– We’ve been running it for many years. But this year feels like one of the most important years to be able to offer activities, she says.
The project is divided into four periods of two weeks, with a maximum of 15 participants during each period. In addition, 24 older youths can get a two-week summer job.
