The girl, who was under ten years old, was found lifeless in a swimming pool at an address outside Broby on Thursday evening and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

– The girl died in the hospital over the weekend. The next of kin have been notified, says Robert Loeffel, police Press Spokesperson, on Monday.

On Thursday, a police report of negligence causing bodily harm was filed. On the weekend it was changed to causing death by negligence.

– There are no suspects in relation to the incident. We are investigating this to get clarity on the circumstances surrounding the girl’s drowning, says Robert Loeffel.

The police are continuing their investigation with interviews, among other things.

– We have questioned people who were at the scene at the time of the incident. We will be carrying out more interviews. We have not been able to interview everyone yet. Of course, many people are shocked and we have to take that into account.
