Covid-19: New test can give result in half an hour
A new test can show after half an hour whether a person has covid-19 or not. ’All you have to do is spit into a test-tube’, says Ann-Sofi Rehnstam-Holm, a professor at Högskolan Kristianstad, in an interview in Svenska Dagbladet.

American scientists at the Yale School of Public Health have developed a new saliva test for covid-19. It is reported to be quick, inexpensive and reliable.
According to Ann-Sofi Rehnstam-Holm , professor of microbiology at Högskolan Kristianstad no staff are needed to carry out the test.

– All you have to do is spit into a test-tube, she tells the newspaper.
Accordng to Rehnstam-Holm the test is nothing new. But scientists have adapted it to a technique that enables the result to be analysed more quickly in a laboratory.
The test can show after half an hour whether a person has covid-19 or not. Laboratories can already carry out the test.
Ann-Sofi Rehnstam-Holm believes that Sweden can have similar tests in six months – or even sooner.
