Corona: Vaccine early next year

Vaccination against the new coronavirus may start as early as next year. But the virus may be around for several years. "The important preventive measures must remain”, says Johan Carlson from the Public Health Agency of Sweden.

Sweden has joined cooperation within the EU to secure access to vaccines. There may be a vaccine at the beginning of next year, but only in small amounts.

– A vaccine alone cannot stop the pandemic. The important preventive measures must remain for the foreseeable future, he says.

We must continue to keep our distance, wash our hands, avoid meeting the elderly and people at risk - and stay home if we are ill.
