New rules for driving licence
Are you going to sit your driving test? Now you can take longer between the theory test and the practical driving test. The theory test for private cars is valid for four months now, instead of two previously. But you must pass the theory test before you book a date for the practical driving test.

The new rules came into force on 1st March. The idea behind the change is to give people sitting the test more time for training if they fail the practical driving test.
– We know that a lot of people make an extra effort to learn more before they re-sit their driving test. It’s better to use your time and money to learn more than to re-sit the test again and again, says Kristina Hagberg, head of Trafikverket Förarprov.

Booking has become easier. Now you can book your theory test privately and your practical driving test at a driving-school, or the other way round. You can also book your theory test in one place and your practical driving test in another, via Trafikverket’s booking service on the net.
