The man who lived in the apartment and a staff member from the home-care service, who suffered from smoke inhalation were taken to hospital. Both are said to have made it without any serious injuries.

Sibbhult's fire brigade was first on the scene. Head of the Emergency Services Andreas Bengtsson says:

– Thanks to Sibbhult's rapid response, this ended happily.

The apartment, where the fire started, has been completely destroyed. Three or four apartments next door need to be thoroughly cleaned.
