Plans for another solar cell park - twice the size of the one beside E22

In the autumn of 2020 the solar cell park beside E22 was opened. Recently Kb/NSk was also able to report that Kristianstad municipality has given the go-ahead for a large park between Österslöv and Oppmannasjön.

There are plans to create Balsby solar cell park just a short distance away, to the east of Arkelstorpsvägen - this will be the third in the area.

– If you look at the project that we and our colleagues are now advertising on the Swedish market, this is quite a small park, but in comparison to the parks that have already been built it is medium-sized, says Magnus Rahm, project leader at Helios Nordic Energy.

Balsby solar cell park will occupy an area of 16 hectares and will have an annual production of 14 gigawatt hours. According to the company, this is equivalent to a year's electricity consumption for about 4,000 private houses or 6,200 electric cars.

In an application submitted to Länsstyrelsen Skåne it is reported that the park will be built in 2023 or 2024, and will have a life expectancy of 35 to 40 years.

The solar cell park in Balsby is being looked into and discussed at present, and you can submit your viewpoints on the park until 19th October.
