One-storey flats to be pulled down after alarm: There is a plan for the area
Every ten years the housing association carries out tests for radon in its flats. The latest test in Solgatan showed rates that were far too high and Göingehem decided to demolish the ten one-storey flats because of health risks, which Kb/NSk reported in April 2022.
Now Göingehem's managing director can say what will happen next in the area.
– Göingehem will build ten new one-storey flats there. The old ones were all single rooms with an area of 47 square metres, but there will be more variation in the new ones, with one, two or three rooms. So all in all the living space will be greater, says Loveby.
He says that plans will most probably have to be altered to suit the new building project, and this will take the whole of 2023. Construction can begin in 2024 at the earliest, but he is unable to say if the new one-storey flats will be ready for occupation in 2024.
– I think it will be really attractive, Loveby says about the new building, where the outside environment will also be given a lift.
