Kristianstad top five among the worst affected municipalities in Skåne – Hospitals introduce visiting ban
Kristianstad municipality is one of five municipalities in Skåne with the most new cases of covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants.
Last week, more than 2,600 new cases were registered. This means that Kristianstad had 649 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Only four other municipalities in Skåne have more. Helsingborg tops the list, followed by Bjuv, Åstorp and Landskrona.
The number of infections in Kristianstad municipality increased most during weeks 48 to 49 amongst the municipalities in northeast Skåne.
Östra Göinge municipality had the second most, 559 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
The spread of covid-19 means that Region Skåne has introduced a visiting ban at hospitals and schools have been recommended to start Christmas holidays early, starting December 18th instead of December 22nd.
Region Skåne wants to reduce the risk of pupils and teachers being infected at school and then becoming ill during the holidays.

Skåne has had over 39,000 cases of covid-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic.
