Important information: Warning siren to be tested today

– This is just a test. MSB wants to stress this, with regard to the present situation in the world,says Anders Johannesson, head of MSB ( Swedish Civil Contigencies Agency).

The outdoor warning and the signal ”Important information”, VMA, is a warning system. It is used in accidents, serious incidents and when vital functions in the community are out of action. It is an important part of Sweden's preparations to meet a critical situation. To check that the signal is in working order it is tested four times a year. At the same time it reminds the public that there is a signal.

The signal will be tested at 3 pm. In 2022 the signal will be tested on the following Mondays:

7th March

13th June (n.b. 13th June, since the first Monday, 6th June, is Sweden's National Day)

5th September
