Friends saw woman disappear below the surface

It was 18:59 on Saturday when SOS received the first alarm about a drowning incident in Lursjön. According to information from the police and the emergency services it was the woman's friends who saw her swimming in the lake when she suddenly disappeared below the surface.

Her friends, who called 112, managed to find her in the water . They pulled her up on to dry land. The woman was unconscious, and bathers started to apply heart-lung resuscitation.

The emergency services, the police and an ambulance turned out to help in the rescue.

The woman, who was in her 30s, was still unconscious when she was taken to hospital. The extent of her injuries was unknown.

Late on Saturday evening it was reported that she had died in hospital.

The woman's relatives have been informed.
