Five ideas in October

At last, kick around in the heaps of brightly-coloured leaves, go and see the musical ”Alice in Wonderland” as the nights draw in, go to a talk on Barbie, the doll who is both loved and loathed. You can also be carried away by Romany accordion music.

Musical: ”Alice in Wonderland”

What: ”Alice in Wonderland”, full of colours and fantasy, a musical for everyone over the age of 5.

Where: Kristianstad theatre.

When: Will run until 20th November.

Make your voice heard: This way pupils can improve

What: A working committee made up of politicians in Östra Göinge would like to hear ideas from everyone living in or interested in the municipality.How can pupils attain better results? During the autumn there will be five meetings in five places.

Where: Tranan, Sibbhult.

When: 26 October. Put your name down at ostragoinge.se/skoldialog. On 24th November with interpreters, in Hanaskog.

Culture: Romani history and music

What: The library in Kristianstad has Swedish minorities as its theme for 2021. Jewish culture has been a topic, now it is the turn of the Romani. Sweden's ambassador for reading Bagir Kwiek presents Romani history in Sweden, Lelo Nika jr. and Nenad Pavlovic give a lively concert full of rhythms and atmosphere, with both accordeon and song. On 1st December an evening of Sami culture.

EU questions: Europaforum

What: Europaforum is Sweden's leading meeting-place for questions concerning Europe. Once a year the public, politicians, experts and influencers of public opinion meet to discuss current questions in Europe. How is our daily life affected by decisions made in Brussel? Programme and application form at eu-forum.se.

Where: Kulturhuset, Hässleholm.

When: Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th October. Free entry, but applications must be made by 22nd October.
