Two masked young perpetrators set fire to garage
The emergency service were alerted at 1.53 am on Monday. At that time a pile of tires were burning by the side of the building. In the building there are both rubber workshops and a garage.
The fire was put out by 3 am. No one was injured.
The police suspect that the fire was set deliberately. A dog patrol and police forensics have searched the area.
The surveillance footage shows two masked individuals setting fire to the building. Before they lit the fire they poured fuel over cars, along the building and threw in bottles of petrol through the windows. Several surveillance cameras were broken.
Naim Alkuhaili runs the garage that was burnt down. He says that it was the neighbours who heard sound of glass being broken. They also saw the perpetrators who were frightened off.
– Otherwise they would have burned down all of the premises here, he says.
His son Salwan Alkuhaili says:
– It could’ve gone really bad. The two young perpetrators could have hurt themselves and they risked burning down the whole area.
– They seem to have been young. It’s kids with their whole lives ahead of them.
