There are meat scraps and other dumped slaughter waste at recycling facilities. Littering is a big problem. Therefore, stricter controls are required according to the politicians on the Environment and Public Health committee.

Ulf Persson (C) is Chairman of the committee. He is very upset by the littering. When it comes to rubbish and rats, it has become as bad as it was in the 1950s.

He thinks that the problem highlights the shortcomings of the department, that controls are inadequate.

– It's not satisfactory, says Ulf Persson.

The controls made by the Environmental and Community Development department are not enough, explains the director of the department Tommy Danielsson. The department has checked whether restaurants have agreements for waste disposal services.

–But you can have agreements for waste collection and then fail to pay the fee. Then you no longer have the service. Therefore, in 2019, we will begin to check proof of payment, he says.

If you pay for a service, reasons Ulf Persson, then you use it as well.
