Retailers prepare for Black Friday
Tomorrow, on Friday, it’s Black Friday. Svensk Handel (Swedish Trade Federation) estimates that there will be a turnover of approximately 6.5 billion crowns on Friday. Every other Swede is expected to shop.
At C4 Shopping, in Härlöv's commercial area and in the centre, retailers are preparing for Black Friday. Black Friday usually attracts a lot of people to Galleria Boulevard.
– It's the clothing stores that attract the most customers, says Linda Borgström, Centre Manager at Galleria Boulevard.
But there may be competition between C4 Shopping and the retailers in the centre.
– We expect Black Friday to be as big here as the previous years. It's hard to say, C4 Shopping has just opened, says Eva Richter, Executive Manager and Centre Developer for Handelsstaden.
According to Svensk Handel, its clothing, electronics and health and beauty products that sell best on Black Friday. In Härlöv's commercial area, MediaMarkt is making big preparations.
Andreas Nilsson is chairman of Handelsföreningen Kristianstad Väst (Trade association for Kristianstad West), who is a part of developing Härlöv's commercial area. He says that interest in Black Friday has become huge.
– It’s both good and bad. Of course, it’s great that interest in trade increases. But it means that there will be a lot of trade taking place in a short period of time. And it halts trade weeks before, he says.
