Hurricane-force winds over Hanö – train services halted

It's extremely windy now. It’s especially windy over Hanö where wind gusts have reached hurricane-force. “At most, it’s measured at 32.5 metres in the villages. The average wind in Hanö is at storm-force,” says Lasse Rydqvist, Meteorologist at StormGeo. At 3 pm, the storm will subside. Some train services have been halted.

Train services between Hässleholm and Karlskrona have been halted since 1.30 pm. Trafikverket (the Swedish Transport Administration) states that it is due to an electrical fault.

Services were also halted on the Hässleholm-Helsingborg route earlier.

Around 2 pm, 1019 households of Eon's customers in Kristianstad were left without power.

The wind over northeast Skåne is expected to slowly subside after 3 pm.

– It will be windy for the rest of the day. It will only calm down more during the early hours of the morning, but then it will start to get windy again. It will be windy tomorrow as well, but not as windy as today, says Lasse Rydqvist, Meteorologist at StormGeo.
