Huge fire on farm – residents received help from social services
The alarm about a fire in a residential building along Nosabyvägen came in at 00.20 am on Saturday. A resident had discovered that the house was on fire.
– It’s an enclosed old farm with a number of apartments. Eleven people have been evacuated and there is no one left in the building, said Mikael Svensson, Internal Commander at the emergency services in Kristianstad during the night and continued:
Shortly after 4 am, the emergency services announced that the residential house and buildings next to it had burned down. Other nearby houses and buildings with animals escaped the fire.
The police have cordoned off the scene. Forensic technicians will investigate what could have caused the fire on Monday.
What happened to those who lived there?
– They are being taken care of by social services. It’s social services that rents the place, says Internal Police Officer Peter Frostlund in Kristianstad on Saturday evening.
A report on arson has been filed.
– It is not unusual to do this after such a fire, in order to investigate all aspects. The classification may change later, says Kim Hild, Press Spokesman at the Police's Control Centre.
