New project: Obama and Oprah are role models
Fryshuset is launching Moowed, a forum for discussions and activities for girls aged 16-22 years old.
Moowed will have lectures on young leadership, workshops and various activities in culture, art, sports and cooking. The goal is to empower young girls to take a step forward and dare.
The so-called "Göingeandan" (Göinge spirit), that is, the local self-image and community should be broadened to include young girls with immigrant backgrounds.
The new project will put efforts into reaching new arrivals and girls with immigrant backgrounds. Fryshuset has had a difficult time trying to reach these groups.
Wedad Alsanji has been hired as the coordinator for the project which is a Leader project and is funded by Skane’s ESS.
Fryshuset also has the course "Backa systerskapet" (back the sisterhood). About 30 people have taken this course. The course will continue this autumn.
