Zakaria Omar: ”In five years I'll have a business of my own”
In the first issue of Kb Mosaik in 2016 we asked a number of people, ”How did you find your way into the Swedish community?” Zakaria Omar from Somalia was one of them. He had been in Sweden for three years.
”We used Kb Mosaik when I had native language courses at HTS”Zakaria Omar
– I remember the interview, he says. And we used Kb Mosaik when I had native language courses at HTS in Hässleholm, my teacher brought the paper along.
Five years ago Zakaria studied data and information technology at upper high school.
– I intended to work as a network technician, but just one of us who went that course found a job afterwards. Then I lost hope.
While still at school he started a paid-by-the-hour job at Energicenter. Now he works 60 per cent as a local manager. He also works at Bergendahls warehouse in Hässleholm.
What more do you need fully to take your place in the Swedish community?
– Nothing, really.
What will you be doing in five years?
– Then I'll have a business of my own, without a doubt.
