Youth recreation centres to remain closed
Cuts are in focus in the budget proposal for 2023 and a longer-term plan for the following year put forward by the ruling majority.
There is no money to open youth recreation centres outside central Hässleholm, as we had planned, neither in 2023 nor 2024.
– There is no chance just now, says the new chairman of the municipal council, Hanna Nilsson (SD).
– We have postponed them until later. And we don't want to indicate where they will first open, what decides is where they are most needed, she adds.
It sounded different at the beginning of the year. At that time SD, along with S and C, pushed through a decision to include an extra 3..4 million crowns in the strategic plan for 2023 - 2025, money that was earmarked for work on youth recreation centres.
In a letter to the newspaper Hanna Nilsson (SD) and Johan Peltonen (SD) wrote, ' Sverigedemokraterna in Hässleholm have now seen to it that youth recreation centres will be reopened in our surrounding communities'.
Now it transpires that there is no money and the party must back down. The Culture and Leisure committee must save 4.4 million crowns between now and 2025, in line with the budget put forward by SD, M and KD.
