Young man shot dead in Gamlegården – police: "He is known to us"
– He was known to us from before, says John Sjöblom, on-duty investigator with the police in Kristianstad.
No one has been arrested as a suspect in connection with the incident.
– A man has been found injured after several calls to the police. They heard several gunshots and one person is injured, said Evelina Olsson, the police's press spokesperson for the Police Region South, at the time of the incident.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to hospital but he later died. On their website, Region Skåne announced that the man died as a result of his injuries. Relatives have been informed.
Kb/NSk's reporter, Sofyan Aswad, was at the scene on Göingegatan at 11:30 p.m.:
– I saw three or four police cars at the scene. I have spoken to residents here. One of them had heard three shots, but seen nothing. According to him, an ambulance has taken a person away from the scene, he says.
At 1 am, the police’s forensic technicians were on their way to Gamlegården, where the murder took place.
The deceased man was in his early 20s.
The police have found evidence at the scene in the form of empty shell casings.
There are no suspects. According to witness statements, two people left the scene on foot or on a scooter or bicycle.
– We are grateful for any information if anyone has seen anything before or after 11 p.m., for example, if you have seen people standing and waiting on a stairwell or something similar, says John Sjöblom.
