The prosecutor has been waiting for lab results from the National Forensic Centre, NFC. Once they arrived, suspicions against her were reduced.

The suspected attempted murder took place on November 4th, 2020. Police were called out to Fältvägen in Näsby at 9.13 pm where a 25-year-old man was found outdoors. He had serious stab and puncture wounds.

”There are not sufficient grounds to keep her in custody anymore”

Two women aged 20 and 25-years-old were arrested. They are said to have known the injured man previously.

The 20-year-old woman was released on Monday.

– There are not sufficient grounds to keep her in custody anymore, says prosecutor Johanna Kullander, who received lab results from the NFC.

Is she still suspected of attempted murder?

– I can say that the preliminary investigation regarding her has not been closed.

The 25-year-old woman will be detained for another two weeks. She is still suspected (on probable cause) of attempted murder.
