White patches on Skåne's vaccination map – Kristianstad Arena and Qpoolen to be used as surgeries

In June phase four of the vaccination plan comes into force, when people in Skåne aged between 18 and 59 will start to be vaccinated. At the same time there is still a high rate of the spread of the infection.

To begin with there were 160 places for vaccination in Skåne. Now this has shrunk to just 56.

As the crow flies from Broby to Simrishamn there is only one place where the general public can be vaccinated. That place is Kristianstad. Now S demands that health centres be used for vaccination of the public.

– The regional government has opted to buy in this vaccination for group four, and has said that our own health centres will only be for people who are unable to book online. I've had my doubts about that, says Henrik Fritzon (S); regional councillor and second vice-chairman in the regional government.

– It is extremely negative with such a reduction in the number of surgeries. It ought to be easy to get to places like that, says Fritzon.

Gilbert Tribo (L), chairman of the health and welfare committee, says that Region Skåne has been allotted fewer doses of vaccine. So there are fewer surgeries.

– But we also have mobile surgeries which will drive from place to place and vaccinate, says Tribo.

Niclas Nilsson (SD) says:

– Our feeling is that the people involved know best themselves how to vaccinate as many as possible without exhausting our own staff. It feels more like the beginning of an election campaign.
