Top figure in municipality in Skåne in custody for child pornography - escorted by police

Suspicions against the man arise from the detention of a woman in her 40's was taken into custody about two weeks ago on two charges of gross exploitation of minors for sexual posing between 1st January and 30th September 2022 and two cases of sexually molesting minors between 1st November 2020 and 30th September 2022.

These offences are reported to have taken place in a community in Hässleholm municipality, and according to entries in the court's diary there are three people who can be regarded as victims.

The man who is now under suspicion, who is in his 60's, has for many years been head of a department in a municipality in Skåne.

He was arrested in his absence on Friday and the order was carried out on Monday - he was taken into custody just before seven o'clock in the morning.

On Thursday he appeared before the judge in Hässleholm district court , on suspicion of child pornography.

The prosecutor called for his arrest on grounds of his probable involvement in child pornorgaphy between 7th November last year until last Monday, and restrictions have been imposed on him.

The reason for remanding him in custody was given by the prosecutor as there probable reasons being a risk that the man might tamper with evidence or otherwise do something to obstruct the investigation.

The man denies the offence, through his lawyer.

– NN (the name of the suspect) contests the prosecutor's demand for his detention, denies any offences, disputes that there should be any likely reasons and refutes the danger of collusion, said his defence lawyer.

The prosecutor now has until 8th December to start legal proceedings against the man.
