Thousands of cranes rest at Pulken

At the end of March/beginning of April thousands of cranes stop to rest at Vattenriket, on the way to their breeding-places further north.
Last year a record 8,900 cranes were counted on one day, 26th March.

At the open-air museum Pulken the birds are fed, and you can see them performing their ritual spring ”dance”.

Pulken is a nature reserve on Helge å, at Yngsjö. Cranes are there at all times of the day. There is a high tower at Pulken for bird-watching.'

On Sunday 27th March the return of the cranes will be celebrated with ”crane hosts” to tell you about the birds, and free coffee for visitors.
