Suspected explosion – police looking for witnesses: "Want people to call us"
SOS received an alarm about an explosion outdoors in Hässleholm at 1.16 am on Thursday morning. The cars that had caught fire were parked in a car park next to Bragegatan.
The fire brigade believes that the fire started in one car and then spread to two other cars.
- It was possibly an explosion that started the fire. A firework or something. The exact cause of the fire is unknown, says Leif Staffansson.
The fire brigade left the scene shortly after 3.10 am, after putting the fire out and clearing up the waste water from the extinguishing. The three cars were completely destroyed. According to police, a fourth car also caught fire and was damaged.

The site was cordoned off pending a forensic examination by police technicians.
The police's National Bomb Squad was also sent to the scene.
The police had not made any arrests by Thursday.
Does this explosion have any connection to previous car bombings?
- It is too early to comment. We are looking at the information we have regarding this fire and investigating it separately. However, we are aware of previous incidents.
