Store to almost double its size

After 14 years Biltema is going to extend from 5,200 to 9,700 square metres.
– We've been short of space. A wider selection of products and the café call for more space. It's one of our cafés with the biggest turnover, says Johan Gerdevåg, head of marketing in Biltema Sverige.
The café seats 40, and will be extended to take 200 guests.
– It has become an important part of the store, says Johan Gerdevåg.
Biltema has 55 stores in Sweden. The new one in Kristianstad will be one of the biggest in the chain.

The range is adapted to what customers in Kristianstad want.
– Kristianstad sells far more bicycles than average, for example. The advantage of the new store is that we can display everything that we have, 19,000 articles, says Johan Gerdevåg.
At present Biltema in Kristianstad has about 40 employees. This number will increase.
– I don't want to go into exactly how many, says Johan Gerdevåg.
Biltema is also building a store in Hässleholm, near the Ljungdala roundabout. This is to be opened in the summer of 2021.
Biltema will be next door to the new Läreda commercial centre along with shops such as Elgiganten, Jysk, Willy's, the gym chain Nordic Wellness and the restaurant Linnéa & Basilika.
