Starry sky and rag rug for Path of Sighs
The grey, depressing straight lines of the '70's are to go. For two years the tenants' association Sting at Charlottesborg, with 311 tenant-owned flats, has been planning a project for the outdoor environment. Residents have been able to make suggestions.
– I think he crowning glory will be the asphalted path between the houses which goes by the name of the Path of Sighs. It will be laid with bricks to look like a rag rug, says Anne Siivola, who heads the social living department in HSB Skåne.
”he four courtyards will have grassy areas between them”Jessica Dahlman, landscape architect
– Yes, it's my idea, says Tage Lundgren, deputy landlord for Sting, one of two associations in the area.
– The four courtyards will have grassy areas between them, there will be wooden flooring, a pergola, different kinds of trees, covered cycle stands. On the grassy areas there will be various sculptures for children to play on, says landscape architect Jessica Dahlman.
Nesting-boxes for birds and bats and insect hotels will be set up. Perhaps the people who have allotments would like beehives. The project costs 15 million crowns, to which Boverket (the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning) will contribute part of the cost.
Everything is to stand ready in November.
