Secret surveillance led police to stash house – 23-year-old and three time detainee in the centre
On September 21, the police stopped a 37-year-old man on the outskirts of a town in Kristianstad municipality. What the 37-year-old was not aware of at the time was that the police had been secretly surveilling his electronic communications for a long time.
The police had also intercepted and surveilled two of the other men who have now been charged – one of whom is the 23-year-old who has been identified as a leading figure in in the conflict between the criminal networks in Hässleholm.
The police knew full well that they would find narcotics in the 37-year-old's residence, but just then he was most concerned that he had been driving without a license.
- Driving without a license, absolutely, I’ll buy it. But then searching my car, I just said "aha, am I suspected of something"? he says in a police interview about being stopped.
When the police share their intel, he admits to having drugs at home, but claims he is only storing them for the 23-year-old, who is currently in custody for three other serious crimes – including incitement to attempted murder for the shooting on Skolgatan in October .
When the police raided the apartment, only two bags were left containing nearly 52,000 narcotic pills. The rest of the drugs were gradually picked up by different people.
In addition to the drug related offences that the 30-year-old and the other two are being charged for, the prosecutor at Kristianstad District Court has charged him for a further two offences. One of the drug offences concerns the possession of 214 grams of hash, and the other for handing over a total of 45 grams of cocaine, on six occasions between August 1 and 28, to the fourth defendant – a 36-year-old resident of Kristianstad.
The Kristianstad resident is in turn charged with drug offences, for buying and possessing the same amount of cocaine, in whole or in part for the purpose of resale.
