Record number of covid patients in hospitals
When the situation was at its worst in May, about 90 patients with Covid-19 were admitted to hospitals in Skåne. During the summer, this number decreased to less than 10 infected hospital inmates.
There are now 17 people in the intensive care unit and 94 people who have been admitted to care departments to receive treatment for Covid-19 disease caused by Coronavirus.
In CSK, two people are now being cared for in the intensive care unit, along with 23 others in other departments. In total, 25 patients with Covid-19 are being taken care of at CSK.
The influx of Covid patients last week was so big that the places in Section 152 (Infection Department) are no longer sufficient.
– This afternoon, we will open a new department on the 6th floor of the Hospital”, says Staffan Banke, Director of Operations for the Infection Clinic at CSK.
This section 064 was open during the last spring but closed later when the number of infected cases decreased.
In total, 322 people died as a result of the infection, including three people at the weekend.
