A total of 300 pupils, teachers and other staff are infected by covid-19 at the moment. That is twice as many as the highest figure previously during the pandemic, according to Kenth Olsson, head of the education department.

– It mirrors the community as a whole. The challenge is when too many pupils and staff are ill at the same time. It's difficult to find temporary teachers too, says Kenth Olsson.

”We want the pupils to be in school as much as possible”

From the primary classes all the way up to the upper school classes are being forced to change over to distance learning. It is an exception that the very youngest classes must have distance tuition, says Kenth Olsson.

– We try not to have distance learning in the younger classes as far as possible, he says.

Pupils can be in school as long as they are not infected and there are other members of staff who can be with them in the classroom.

– We want the pupils to be in school as much as possible, says Kenth Olsson.
