Pupil threatened the life of school staff: Guards and locked doors

There is a zero tolerance policy against both verbal and physical threats, violence, in the schools in Östra Göinge. That is what the school principal Cecilia Flood says.
— In this case it involves a verbal threat, she says. The school called the police and a police report was made. A municipality representative in charge of security was also involved and a risk and safety assessment was made.
— The pupil was suspended from school for 5 days and safety precautions as well as security preparedness was increased. The doors were locked, but we chose to keep one door open. The school also called in guards from security companies who remained during the last two days of the semester.
”We have to make sure and ensure that the other pupils have security and a peaceful study environment,”Cecilia Flood, school principal .
There have also been guards on site during the first days of the spring term. The pupil is still suspended.

Concerning the pupil, the pupil will after the end of the period of suspension, receive tutoring and education by other means than in school.

The police investigation is ongoing and the school is conducting a school investigation into the pupil, who is under 15 years old.
The school has also made and sent a report of concern to the social services, regarding the pupil.
