The suspected attempted murder in Gamlegården took place during the early hours of Wednesday morning. A 35-year-old man was shot in the leg.

Police arrested a man in his 20s later that day. He is suspected of involvement in the shooting and was then detained by prosecutors.

On Thursday, police received new information. Another man, also in his 20s, then became a suspect.

– He was brought in for questioning yesterday afternoon. He was arrested later in the evening, said police spokesman Robert Loeffel on Friday morning.

”People who have seen, heard or know something about the shooting are urged to get in touch. You can remain anonymous if you do it online or by phone. If you know who did it, you can come forward without it being traced back to you in any way ", says Martin Thornell who together with Malin Sjöblom are municipal police officers in Kristianstad.

"I think people know who did this. Sometimes they don’t come forward out of fear, but sometimes it's just foolhardiness”, says Martin Thornell, municipal police officer.

The man who was arrested on Wednesday is suspected on reasonable grounds, the lower degree of suspicion. The man who was arrested on Thursday is suspected on probable cause, that is, a stronger suspicion.

The prosecutor has four days to decide whether the two men should be remanded in custody or released.

– Several measures in the investigation must be taken before prosecutors can make a decision on pre-trial detention, says Robert Loeffel.
