Politicians want more surveillance in Broby

The municipality wants to increase surveillance in Broby. An application for camera surveillance in the centre has been sent to the Swedish Data Protection Authority.

– We want to prioritise the work around creating security in our villages, says Municipal Councillor Patric Åberg (M).

There has been some cause for concern, mainly in Broby.

– That’s why we’re now applying to the Swedish Data Protection Authority to set up two cameras for round the clock surveillance.

The cameras will cover Torggatan and the bus station where drugs are openly dealt.

– This should be seen as complementing the work of the police. Of course, a more visible police force provides the best effect, says Åberg.

– We should never give in to the bad guys, but instead, help each other to stop them, Patric Åberg (M) concludes.
