Number of child sexual abuse cases reported – in your municipality
A notable incident in the spring of 2022 was when an employee at a nursery in Kristianstad was arrested on suspicion of child rape. The man in his 50s was held in custody for a few weeks, but denied all charges except child pornography offences.
While he has confessed to this, he has not been held accountable for any crime yet.
– The investigation is still open, says Prosecutor Helena Fredriksson.
Another man from northeast Skåne – a teacher – was sentenced to prison last year after molesting a girl ten years ago. According to the District Court, the girl was younger than 10 at the time.
When the girl reached her teenage years, the memories came back to her and she reported the incident to the police. The man was convicted of aggravated rape against a child, amongst other things.
At present, a former Scanian Municipal Director and a woman from northeast Skåne are also in custody. They are suspects in the same case. The woman is suspected of child rape, gross exploitation of a child for sexual posing and child molestation. The man is suspected of inciting the rape of a child, amongst other things.
In Hässleholm, 27 cases of child rape were reported last year.
In Östra Göinge, the number of child molestation reports remains at a high level – despite the fact that significantly fewer crimes were reported than in 2021 when 17 cases were noted.
In Bromölla, the same number of child molestation cases were reported as in Östra Göinge in 2022.
