New school at Österäng – with flats above
ABK wants to pull down the building with Antonskolan, a nursery school, a youth centre and the library. The building covers about 4.500 square metres.
”This way of building is new for Kristianstad, but it's very common in bigger towns”Karl-Henrik Persson, ABK's head of construction and purchasing.
Parts of the building are in such a bad state of repair that it would cost 60 million crowns to renovate them. ABK thinks that is too costly.
The plan is to build a new school for Antonskola with 50 - 60 flats on the upper storey and in a separate building alongside.

So far there are no concrete plans. There must be a detailed plan, something the building committee has decided to have drawn up.
It is not clear whether ABK has plans for a library, a youth centre and a nursery school in the new building.
