– This is something that stands out, says Sara Andersson, press spokesperson for the police.

On both Saturday and Sunday, several cars caught fire in Kristianstad. On Sunday, three cars caught fire in a car park on Olastorpsvägen in Näsby.

On Monday morning it happened again. At 6 am, the emergency services and the police were called out to a car park on Olastorpsvägen/Fältvägen to handle the new car fires.

– Three cars have burned down and a fourth has been damaged by the fires. It’s a car park in the same area, but I can’t comment on whether it’s the same one as on Sunday. We are finished at the scene and on our way back, says Karl-Magnus Larsson, Internal Officer at the emergency services.

How do you feel about being called out to the same area again?

– Of course it’s tedious for the residents that there are so many fires. Further to that, the police have to investigate why there have been fires in the same place.

The police are now investigating what caused the fires.

– Of course they are looking to see whether there is a connection between the incidents, because this is something that stands out, says Sara Andersson, press spokesperson for the police.

The incident has been classified as criminal damage by arson.
