Municipality offers school-leavers jobs

Kristianstad is now offering young people jobs within the municipality. For a limited period people with an upper secondary school certificate (studerntexamen) can try out working as a teacher, nurse, administrator or chef, to name a few possibilities.

The government has set aside money to help young people take their first steps on to the labour market. So the municipality is providing 22 different jobs for up to two months in the autumn. The young people - who left upper secondary school in 2020 or 2021 and are resident in Kristianstad - will be able to gain an insight into some types of municipal work.

– We hope to be able to improve young people's way on to the labour market. The rate of unemployment among young people is still high because of the pandemic, says co-ordinator Susanne Friedrichsen.
