During Ramadan 2020, the mosque was also closed.
– We must continue with that. We hope that it will end maybe now at the end of the summer, or in autumn.
– We’re waiting for the vaccination. I'm also waiting for it.
Why Muslims fast
During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food, drink and sex, from sunrise to sunset. The purpose is to learn patience, humility and increase their awareness of the religion. They pray to God (Allah) more than usual, ask for forgiveness of their sins, guidance to live righteously and purify themselves through abstinence and good deeds.
Everyone is expected to give charity (zakat), safeguard their family and avoid violence, anger, jealousy, greed and spreading rumours.
