More security guards and more camera surveillance – but more late-night football as well
The municipality wants to invest an extra five million crowns to strengthen the ongoing drive to increase security. Politicians discussed the question at last week's meeting of the working committee of the municipal executive board.
”We've got a whole range of things we can do. And with these millions we can do even more”Peter Johansson (M)
– We're already doing a lot,but we want to sharpen up our work even more. Now we're making an effort to get to grips with certain problems, says Peter Johansson (M).
The municipality wants to apply for permission to have security guards all over Gamlegården for a period of 24 months.
In accordance with the law regarding security guards municipalities can apply to be considered a so-called paragraph 3 area, where security guards are allowed to work for a certain time - if there is a special need.
This will cost around 720,000 crowns a year (see Facts). ABK will also pay part of the cost.
The municipality would like to introduce more security guards at weekends as soon as possible for a period of 36 months. Starting in the winter of 2021 surveillance with dog patrols will be carried out all over the municipality.
The municipality would also like to have more late-night football, more activities during school holidays and night patrols where there are none at present.
– We've got a whole range of things we can do. And with these millions we can do even more, says Peter Johansson.
