Man stabbed in big fight in town centre

On Friday evening several people are reported to have been involved in a fight in central Kristianstad. The police barricaded off large parts of Östra Storgatan from Regionmuseet towards Norretullskolan. Three people were held by the police. One man was stabbed, another was beaten up.

Friday evening was rowdy. At 21:37 the police were informed of a big fight on Östra Storgatan with about ten people involved.

– We get in information that stones are being thrown and a car has been hit, says Filip Annas, police spokesman in region Syd.

The police find two injured people, a man in his twenties had been stabbed, and a man in his fifties had been beaten up. A number of people are reported to have received injuries and had to have hospital treatment.

Three people were being held on Friday evening They were taken into custody at 04:00 on Saturday morning, on a charge of causing grievous bodily harm.

On Sunday the three who had been in custody were released.

– But they are still suspects, says Mikael Person, internal officer in charge with the police in Kristianstad. The police have made a forensic examination of the scene of the crime.
