Man robbed by bogus policemen – police looking for witnesses
The man, aged about 18, was outside the rink along with a friend. Suddenly two strangers came up to him and said they were plain-clothes policemen.
Then they made threats to the man. They forced him to hand over a mobile phone and a small sum of money. The 18-year-old's friend ran away.
”A witness is reported to have passed by just as the robber shouted out that he was from the police. We would very much like to get in touch with that witness”Marielle Kamp, at Kristianstad police station
Now the police are appealing for information that can lead to a solution of the crime.
– A witness is reported to have passed by just as the robber shouted out that he was from the police. We would very much like to get in touch with that witness, says Marielle Kamp, internal officer in charge at Kristianstad police station.
– If anyone has seen or heard anything at the ice-rink, we'd like them to contact us, either direct to 114 14 or ask to be connected to the police in Kristianstad, she says.
The police have a vague description of the perpetrators. On Wednesday no suspect had been caught.
There have been similar robberies before in Skåne. Most recently on 24th September, when a man in his thirties was robbed outside Malmö town hall. There too the robbers said they were plain-clothes policemen. They got away with a mobile phone. No suspect has yet been caught.
