– We are four parties who agree that we must reduce immigration to be able to make a good job of integration. All children, no matter where in the world they are born or where they live in Sweden, must have the same chance to make the very best of themselves here, says Maria Malmer Stenergard to STV, and goes on:
– Now we see that we have quite a brutal system of social exclusion which is destroying the fabric of society. To turn this development around and cope with integration we must also reduce immigration. But I would like to stress that the right of asylum must still be respected and we will respect all the international conventions we are committed to, but we must reduce immigration.
On the other hand she is unable to give any precise figures as to how much immigration will be reduced.
– There will be a drastic reduction in immigration , and that is what we need to make a good job of integration, Malmer Stenergard says to SVT.
