Lowest number of new covid cases in a month in Skåne

The daily situation update for covid-19 in Skåne shows that there have been 629 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. This brings the number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic to 76,512. More than 2,200 new cases have been reported since Region Skåne’s last update on Tuesday.

The number of covid patients admitted to hospitals in Skåne has now reached 630 compared to 617 people on Tuesday. The increase has also been noticed in the intensive care units (ICU). On Thursday, 62 people were being treated in the ICU which is four more than on Tuesday.

CSK noted a decrease in the number of covid patients two days ago, but on Thursday it had increased again. The hospital has gone from 73 to 76 covid patients. The situation in the ICU however, is unchanged; there are still ten patients being treated there.

Mats Molt, Deputy Hospital Manager at CSK, describes the situation as strained.

– We have increased the capacity of the ICU so that we can take in more patients if needed. We don’t want to comment on how many patients we can take in there, he says.
