Lowest food prices here
The price of a total of 36 different articles from the shops in northeast Skåne has been compared. The items range from rusks and coffee to pickled herring in mustard sauce and Mamma Scan's meatballs.
The shops chosen are of all types, from village shops to supermarkets. And the comparison sends a clear message – it is best value to shop in the bigger stores.
PRO's price check
The pensioners' national organisation PRO has around 300,000 members in Sweden. PRO has compared food prices every year since 1991.
The latest survey was made on 2nd November 2021. The least expensive basket with 36 items cost about 811 crowns, and the most expensive almost 1,050 crowns.
The lowest prices of all the twelve shops tested in northeast Skåne are at Willys at Långebro in Kristianstad, where all 36 selected items cost a total of 814,12 crowns. This can be compared with ICA Nära Toppen in Sösdala, with a total price for the 36 articles of 1012,86 crowns.
All five of the shops with the lowest prices are supermarkets such as ICA Maxi Stormarknad, Willys and Stora Coop. And those with the highest prices are small shops.
